What can you do if you feel your rights have not been provided?

First, you must attempt to seek compliance at the local level. You should contact the person you feel has not provided you with your rights and explain specifically what has not been done. You may seek assistance from your victim assistance person or other supportive persons. You may also seek assistance from the elected official or head of the agency.

Contacts may be verbal or in writing. Keeping accurate records of your efforts is a good idea. If your efforts fail to resolve the issue with the agency, you may request assistance from:
