50 Most Wanted: On March 14, 2010 deputies assigned to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Fugitive Unit/Warrant Section, along with several
other metro area law enforcement agencies, participated in the 50 Most Wanted Fugitive Round Up. The 50 Most Wanted operation is coordinated by the Fugitive Location Apprehension Group (FLAG), which is comprised of eight
different law enforcement agencies:
- Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office
- Douglas County Sheriff’s Office
- Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
- Aurora Police Department
- Denver Police Department
- Colorado Bureau of Investigations
- Colorado Department of Corrections
- United States Marshal’s Service
Although the above mentioned agencies currently comprise the FLAG unit, the 50 Most Wanted is open to any Colorado law enforcement
agency who submit a suspect for the list. The crimes for which the 50 Most Wanted suspects have committed include charges
such as homicide, sexual assaults, drugs, robberies, and various other felonies. The Denver Police Department hosted a press conference on Saturday, March 13th at 2:45pm at Denver Police Headquarters. Captain Larry Etheridge was the representative for Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Photos of the 50 Most Wanted ran in the Denver Post Newspaper on Sunday, March 14. The page was in color and ran in the “Denver
and the West” section of the newspaper. With the assistance of the area TV stations, other media and the community, the participating metro police and sheriff’s agencies
combined their efforts in an attempt to arrest these suspects. Officers searched for the fugitives and manned the phone lines
taking tips from citizens. The goal is to locate and arrest as many fugitives as possible; not only on March 14, but over
the next several weeks as tips continue to come in.Information on the whereabouts of any suspect featured on the 50 Most Wanted
list should be referred to Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. As of the evening of March 15, 2010, area law enforcement officers had arrested 5 of the Top 50 as well as 30 other subjects
wanted on various felony warrants.
