Starting early Dec.2011, residents will notice trail and trailhead construction taking place at Richmil Ranch Open Space,located about 2 miles northwest of Deer Trail on Highway 40.

Amenities will include multi-use trails for horses and pedestrians, a trailhead, restrooms, picnic shelters and more, through a phased approach. The site also allows for continued agricultural and ranch use on specific areas of the property to help preserve the County’s agricultural and ranching history.

InFebruary 2011, many residents attendedan open house to provide feedback on the plans. Thanks to their input, the County has added horse-trailer parking to the first phase of development.
