The Engineering Services staff is also responsible for Stormwater/ Floodplain administration. This section of the Engineering
Services Division reviews and evaluates building and construction activities adjacent to FEMA and Community Regulated floodplains.
Floodplain Management staff issues Floodplain Development Permits within the County's jurisdiction. Staff coordinates Floodplain
activities with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to ensure that Arapahoe County complies with the National Flood Insurance
Program (NFIP) and maintains a favorable Community Rating.
Staff also participates in Stormwater Master Planning with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) and the Southeast
Metropolitan Stormwater Authority (SEMSWA).
