Court Notification Calling Program Volunteer The court notification calling program involves making courtesy telephone calls to remind defendants involved in traffic and
misdemeanor case of an upcoming date in court. The goal is to minimize the number of defendants who fail to appear for a scheduled
court appearance, thereby reducing failure to appear warrants, and lowering taxpayer expenditures in the criminal justice
system.
This volunteer program was recognized by the National Association of Volunteers in Local Government with the 2010 Innovative
Volunteer Program Award.
Timeframe:Three to five hours per week on a weekday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Location:
Arapahoe County Altura Plaza Judicial Services Division 15400 E. 14th Place, 4th Floor, Aurora
Qualifications:
- Age 21 or older
- Complete a volunteer application form
- Pass a background check
- Attend position-specific training
- The County also is seeking bilingual volunteers who can make reminder calls in Spanish.
