
Arapahoe County’s Board of County Commissioners appoints a 20-member Community Corrections Board to oversee the local community
corrections facilities and determine which diversion and transition offenders are accepted into the system.
The Board consists of up to 20 members representing agencies and citizens within the 18th Judicial District. Members include
mental health professionals, citizens, law enforcement officers, a District Court judge, and a representative from the District
Attorney’s Office, Office of the Public Defender, Probation Department, the City of Aurora, the City of Littleton and the
Arapahoe County Community Resources Department.
Responsibilities of the Community Corrections Board
The Board's responsibilities include:
- Reviewing cases for residential placement into a community corrections program
- Monitoring each program’s contract compliance with the State (Department of Public Safety) and the Board of County Commissioners
- Monitoring State Standards for residential and nonresidential community corrections services.
- Monitoring information and statistics related to "walk-aways" from community corrections
- Maintaining legislative contact and interaction regarding the system
The Community Corrections Board is a member of the Colorado Association of Community Corrections Boards (CACCB).

Responsibilities of the Judicial Services Division
The Arapahoe County Judicial Services Division Manager provides technical and administrative assistance to the Arapahoe County
Community Corrections Board and serves as a liaison between board members, the Division of Criminal Justice, the Probation
Department, the Department of Corrections, legislators and the community.
The Judicial Services Administrative Clerk provides clerical assistance to the Board; prepares cases for Full Board Review
and assists the Director with the distribution of packet information, letters and communication for special committees as
needed.
A Judicial Services Officer provides supervision to any offender sentenced to Community Corrections awaiting placement in
the community, and provides information and presents cases to the Review Committee for approval or rejection.
