Housing and Community Development

The Housing and Community Development Services division aims to improve the quality of life for all those living and working in the County, through the provision of affordable housing, employment opportunities, improved public facilities, and recreational and educational opportunities to the County’s low to moderate income and special needs populations.

HCDS provides more than $4 million in local services every year and:

- Directs the Arapahoe County Housing Authority, which manages the County’s Family Self Sufficiency programs, Homebuyer program and Section 8 Rental Subsidy.
- Administers Federal Community Development Block Grants received by Arapahoe County, to fund government and non-profit agencies that promote the health, safety and betterment of low to moderate-income persons and neighborhoods.
- Administers Federal HOME Partnership funds received by Arapahoe County to provide affordable housing in the County.
